The Very Young Gents and Ladies

February 20 is my son's school turn-over ceremony for grade schooler ( grades 5 and 6). It's one of those school activities wherein the graduating class will turn-over the key of responsibility to grade 5 class. The occasion ask for the students to wear formal attire, and exciting parents (including me) were all around the campus giving support (do they need it?) to their kids. What amazed me is the beauty of all the young girl transformed from being an ordinary girl to a very young elegant ladies. Oh I was so fascinated to watched these young ladies in their glamorous attire and make-ups... Yes, they are all well dressed (he. he. he. he).
Would you believe these are all grade 6 students (aged 11-12)...

My son ....
The party started with the usual ceremony and dance competition per grade level. Students shows their best in the dance floor dancing from cha-cha to modern beat. And by the end of the program a special committee chooses winners for best dressed, best dancer and eye-catcher of the nite. Afterwhich, students were given the floor to danced the nite away. My son asked us to leave the premises and wait for him outside their campus until its time for them to go home. So I wasn't able to see who he dances on the floor (he.he.he.he)..

Father and Son Bonding

It looks like a post-Valentine's day celebration but it's not. My daughter needs to buy this corporate look attire for their Career Day and after going to mass, we all went to this well known department store. I thought this will just be an ordinary spur of the moment shopping but it turned out to be more (I mean bonding time). After eating our brunch and knowing that the two gentlemen with me (my husband and son) will get bored with this ladies stuff we agreed to split into two, dad and son then mom and daughter. Later on, the group became, mom-daughter-son with dad doing his own stuff. And guess where we found him??? In the basketball arena of the mall, watching those shooters trying to beat the clock..

Now, this is the moment that we enjoyed.. My husband tried the game with my son and luckily I was able to shoot some pics of them.

The best shooting angle for my husband is on the right corner.

Now it's my son's turn, (from above left clockwise) : looking at the goal, dribbling the ball, aiming, aiming and goooooo and the jump.
We are all cheering for my son.. hehehehe

Heart's Day

Yesterday is Valentine's Day, and lovers all over the world had celebrated this day with their loved ones. Me, had celebrated it with my husband and kids. Our initial plan of an out of town trip didn't push-thru since my son wanted to go on malling instead . Well, since we also need to buy his suit for their turn-over party (imagine there's also a party for grades 5 and 6 , sort of junior-senior prom?) we all went to the mall. And wow, the place were packed with families (and lovers of course) who's celebrating the same as we are. As expected my two angels enjoyed the day and bought things they wanted (should be within the budget of course, hehehehe). With no place in mind to take our lunch we ended up in Giligan's. By mid-day my son (seems like he's the boss on that day) ask us to go home.

Ohh, before I forgot here's what I got this Valentine's Day from my husband..
A pair of gold earrings and my favorite chocolate bar, Toblerone.

My daughter, Rose also received a gold earrings from her dad.. Isn't he's sweet??? hehehehe.

The Beauty of Hongkong

Since it's my first trip to Hongkong, I was able to appreciate its beauty from the flowers to fashions. I have seen flowers of various colors and different kinds. See for yourself..

These flowers were taken by my daughter Rose along Canton Road, Kowloon.

These are the flowers taken in Macau .

Flowers along the way to Avenue of Stars.

It was also fascinating to see Hongkong's fashion. Women in boots, leggings, short skirt or short pants, winter jacket or double blouses with matching jacket or cardigan.

While walking around Tsim Sha Tsui we can't help to appreciate the place and it's buildings. From Nathan Road to Canton Road to Salisbury Road up to the harbor, tall, well kept buildings all around and those well known brand boutiques. Oh not to forget their MTR stations.

The pictures speak for itself.

Thanks to my daughter who loves to take pics of all sort.

A Nite in Hongkong

Basically I should have called it Kowloon experienced not Hongkong since most of our activities where in Kowloon side. We spend our last nite there by buying some "pasalubong" at Mongkok Ladies Night Market and watching the well known "Symphony of Lights" at Victoria Harbour. The street of Mongkok was practically closed to any traffic and had been converted to bargain area. Here you can also see different street performances and item promotions from cellphones to car brochures. What amused us most are the neon lights that transversed from one side of the street to the other side, it was like having lights as your umbrella.

This is Mongkok at nite.
Symphony of Lights started at exactly 8:00pm and show lasted for 20 minutes. This nightly spectacle combines interactive lights of 44 key buildings on both Hongkong Island and Kowloon with musical effects to showcase the vibrancy and glamorous night vista of Victoria Harbour. The best viewing locations of this nightly spectacle are along the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront between the Avenue of Stars and the Hongkong Cultural Centre.
